General Rules and Conduct:

The rules and regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publication of, or compliance with, these rules and/or regulations. They are strictly intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others.

As with any set of rules or guidelines, the Management reserves the right to add, amend, suspend, or adjust any rule or procedure which they deem necessary to aid in the production of racing. This will be done primarily for the purpose of maintaining safety and fair competition for all. The omission of any rule or guideline does not authorize any participant to assume legality. It is better to get clarification of a rule rather than be disqualified for assuming.
General Track Rules: Applies to all Classes
Please familiarize yourself with the following information:

RELEASE:

Every person, participant, crewmember, must sign & print your name clearly on “Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement” upon entering the premises. All drivers are required to sign 2ND Release Form upon paying entry fee and entering to race if pre-entered.

AGE:

A driver’s actual age as of January 1, 2010 shall establish “competition age” for that entire calendar year.

HOT LAPS:

There will be at least 1 hot lap session for each class. It is the responsibility of the DRIVER to be on time and staged with your respective class for the practice session. Practice for late entries will be at the discretion of the officials. Practice during intermission is not allowed unless otherwise informed.

RACE LINE-UP:

It is the responsibility of the driver to be in the grid, race ready, when his or her class is called. There will be no waiting on the grid. If you are unable to come out with your class, and later get your kart started, you may join the class in your earned position, UNLESS THE GROUP IS IN POSITION TO TAKE THE GREEN FLAG, THEN
YOU MUST FALL IN THE REAR OF KARTS TO RACE. If you race in more than one class, inform the grid official so he may hold the other drivers for a reasonable time for you to get in line. Race Line-up will be posted on a board close to grid entrance.
LATE ENTRIES:
Late entries will automatically start in rear for heat race!!!!!!!!

BE THERE ON TIME!

PAINTED AREAS ON MOTOR:

Bolts will be painted on motors by Tech Official. At least one carb bolt, one head bolt, and any other bolt determined by Tech Official to be critical to insure fairness. You cannot remove a painted bolt without first notifying the tech official. ANY painted bolt that has been removed is subject to immediate disqualification.

CHANGING OF MOTORS:

If you change motors or change any part that requires removing the surface of the painted area, you must first notify tech official and any changes must be done in his presence. If a motor is changed, that motor being removed will be held in impound till the races and tech are completed. By notifying the tech official prior to your changes, you will be
allowed to race, you will NOT however be given your earn position on the grid as you will have to start at the rear of the field.

KARTS NOT MAKING CALL TO THE GRID:

In the event a driver can not race or kart and drive does not make the call to the grid, that line will just move forward weather it’s the inside or outside lane!. WE WILL NOT RESTAGGER LINE UP’S!

OFFICIAL RACE:

Race is OFFICIAL after one completed lap. The event is OFFICIAL after completion of heat and/or qualifying.

SCALES & WEIGHING:

All karts are required to go directly to scales after heat race, and feature race. If you fail to cross scales, we will assume you are light and penalize as follows: If you are light after heats, you will give up your earn position and you will start in rear of your feature. If you are light after feature, you will be DQ’d form the nights event and render all winnings and points!

Only ONE CREW MEMBER may assist with any kart on exit grid and scales. Verbal or physical abuse of any driver or crew member in the weighing area will not be tolerated. Any action witnessed by track officials to be unsportsmanlike will be dealt with and penalties will be applied

WEIGHTS:

All weights must be securely bolted to the kart. IT MUST BE double bolted or pinned to insure safety in competition. ANY WEIGHT ATTACHED TO KART MUST BE PAINTED WHITE AND WITH THE NUMBER OF THE KART ON EACH WEIGHT!

CHANGING KARTS:

A driver may not change karts after qualifying or running heats and be able to maintain his/her earned position. They may start at the rear of the line-up.

PIT AREA:

NO MOTORS ALLOWED TO BE RUNNING IN PIT AREA! We have been very tolerant of this in the past. If this becomes a problem, you could be DQ’d from your race! You will need to push your machine to the grid before starting the engine. If you need to warm up your engine, there will be designated areas addressed at the drivers meeting. Please use caution when exiting the track.

TRASH BARRELS:

ANY EFFORTS MADE TO KEEP THE FACILITY(s) TRASH FREE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. They allow us to use there facility to hold these events! Please take efforts to take care of them!

CONDUCT:

All drivers shall conduct themselves in an orderly manner. Physical violence or verbal abuse of any individual, official, participant, spectator, etc. will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate ejection from the event and possible suspension from future events. Drivers will be held directly responsible for the actions of their
entire crew.

DRIVERS MEETING:

A drivers meeting will be held prior to racing each day. It is mandatory for all drivers to attend the meeting. Drivers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

TIRES:

Tire rules will be outlined in each class rules!

MUFFLERS:

Any pipe or and muffler combo.  All karts must be equipped with a  RLV Muffler. No Loop pipes.
CHAIN GUARDS:
Chain guards are mandatory on all karts.

NUMBERS: ALL CLASSES!

Numbers must be on both sides, front and back. Numbers should be visible to the scoring tower and corner officials. Numbers to be a minimum of 6 inches in height. ALL KARTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO DISPLAY ONE
NUMBER PANEL ON REAR OF KART.(NO EXCEPTIONS. NO metallic numbers on karts, you cannot read number from a distance.
PLEASE NOTE: Duplicate numbers in the same class will not be allowed. Numbers will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Anyone entering a class later will have to change their number. If is very difficult and sometimes impossible when two karts have the same number, to make sure the scoring/penalty, etc. is issued to the
right kart.

GRID RULES:

PLEASE NOTE: NO KART BUGGIES ALLOWED BEYOND THE ENTRANCE TO THE GRID LANE:NO EXCEPTIONS---THIS WILL BE ENFORCED!!!!!!-
Tire covers, warmers, kart buggies, refueling or working on karts will not be allowed in the grid. NO PREPPING OF TIRES AFTER ENTERING THE GRID LANES.

CREWMEMBER ON RACE TRACK:

NO crewmember allowed on infield or race track at ANYTIME during a race!!!!. Any crewmember crossing the racing surface after racing starts will cause their kart to be black-flagged. Starters will be asked for from a official! If under red flag condition, NO WORKING ON KARTS WILL BE ALLOWED OF ANY KIND!

RESTARTING KARTS:

If your kart malfunctions before a completed green flag lap, you may restart and return to the race in your spot. You will only be allowed two re-starts. After 1 green flag lap is completed, if your kart malfunctions & stalls, and you regain power, you must start at rear of field. you will be given 3 courtesy laps to restart and return to race in rear.

Note: After TWO try’s at an original start, flagman reserves the right to send BOTH drivers to the rear of the field!
ROUGH DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE DEALT WITH APPROPRIATELY!!!!

TECH PROCEDURES:

IMPOUND AREA:

Top 3 feature finishers must go to impound area. This is the responsibility of driver or parent to make sure they go directly to impound area. If you are in doubt to your finished position, go to impound, the Tech Official will let you know if you do not need to stay in impound. Do not remove your kart from impound area until TECH
OFFICIAL gives you the okay. No driver or pit crewmember is allowed in impound during inspection unless the TECH OFFICIAL asks you to be there. IF YOU ARE RACING IN MORE THAN 1 CLASS, YOU MUST NOTIFY TECH OFFICIAL BEFORE YOU LEAVE IMPOUND TO RACE THE OTHER RACE.

FUEL TESTS:

All karts are subject to fuel & oil test. If caught with illegal fuel, it will result in driver
losing points and winnings for that nights event/race, but will not be grounds for suspension from other events.

RESTRICTOR PLATES:

All restrictor plate karts are subject to a restrictor plate check. All restrictor plates must be flat type accepted by IKF or WKA rules.

TECHS:

All tech inspections will be made in accordance with IKF/WKA Tech Manual. A minimum of 1 class will be teched at each event. The first place kart will draw the pill to determine what will be teched. Example: Cam profile/lift, Carburetor, Bore, Head, CC’s, etc. IF KART IS FOUND TO BE ILLEGAL, DRIVER WILL LOSE ALL POINTS AND EARNINGS EARNED FOR THAT RACE.

PROTESTS:

THERE WILL BE NONE! ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL!

If you start the feature race, but do not complete a scored lap, you will be given last place points. If there are only (X) number of entries in your class, whatever that amount may be will be last place points.

Example: 12 entries, but 5 drop out of race and do not finish. 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th place karts all get 39 points for the night. No matter who dropped out when!

If you are disqualified for any reason, you will lose points earned that date. If you are barred from raceway, you will lose any accumulated points you have earned up to that date.

Points are credited to Driver Only. The driver on record must qualify through heat race and drive in the Feature race before they will be credited with points earned. If driver on record qualifies kart, then switches driver for feature, that kart will start in rear of lineup no matter where they qualified. If driver does not notify official of change nor drops to rear of field, all points and earnings will be forfeited!

In the event of a tie for position in point fund class(s). Tie Breaker rules will be as follows:

1st: Number of Wins

2nd: Average finishing spot in ALL main events.

3rd: If we cant determine a winner by then, we will just split the earnings!

AKRA CLasses and Tech rules

Jr. Amateur 5-10yrs Silver plate .425  235lbs

Jr.1 Purple plate .500 8-12yrs            245lbs

Jr.2 Blue Plate .550 12-15yrs             300lbs

Box Stock Sportsman 14 yrs plus        320lbs

Adult Light 14yrs plus                        320lbs

Adult Heavy 14yrs plus                      360lbs


2010 AKRA Rules APPLY to all classes with these important Clarifications.
Drum or Disc Clutch Allowed (except the Sportsman Class, drum clutch only)

Exhaust Header Pipe with  Rlv Muffler NO Loop Pipes

CL1 Cam Allowed (except the Sportsman Class, no CL1 cam)
Description: Single cylinder CLONE Engine NO HONDA PARTS ALLOWED!, 2 valve, OHV 4 cycle
Important Note: All parts must be Box Stock factory production parts unless otherwise specified in these rules. No machining or alteration of parts is allowed unless specifically noted. All parts will be subject to a comparison to a know Box Stock part (when performing a comparison check we will allow a + /- .005” tolerance).

Combustion chamber volume: 26.5 cubic centimeter minimum, with piston at TDC
Cylinder Head Requirements: Must be OEM casting only. Porting and / or grinding are not permitted. Valve seats are two angles 45 degrees valve face and 30 degrees top relief. Stock head bolts only, must have four. Head gasket maybe after market, must be of stock configuration. No copper or aluminum gaskets allowed. Stock rockers 1:1 ratio only!
Bore and Stroke: Stock cylinder bore is 2.685” max. Stroke is 2.123” + / - .005”.

Carburetor requirements: Huayi OR RUI*ING model carb only. Carb to intake sealer is gasket only no other sealer allowed. Choke must be as supplied from factory, but may be fixed to stay in open position.

Aftermarket Air Filter Adapter: Allowed (max length of 1.375).

Air Filter: Must filter from all areas! Filter subject to tech. No style of air rams inside or “pudding”

Main Fuel Jet: May be drilled to a no-go of .042 inch.
Emulsion Tube: Must be stock emulsion tube and unaltered.

Choke bore .810” NO-GO.

Venturi .615” NO-GO.

Rear carb bore .751” NO-GO.

Fuel Tank Requirements: Floor Mounted fuel tank mandatory (stock tank must be removed)EXECPT THE SPORTSMAN CLASS MAY RUN THE STOCK TANK). Pulse type fuel pump allowed. Fuel pump must be pulsed from either the crank case or the valve cover. You may install a flat metal plate in the original tank location for the purpose of mounting the throttle linkage and fuel pump.
Valve Train: Stock valve cover only with any stock configuration gasket, no sealer.
Factory stock rocker arms and push rods only. Stock valves only 45 degree angle only both valves, no modifications allowed.

Only Box Stock valve springs only. Max wire diameter on spring wire is .0698” with a maximum tension of 10.8 lbs. at a height of .850”.

Ignition system: Stock system only and must be unaltered. Kill switch and low oil sensor may be disabled and removed.
Flywheel: Box Stock flywheel only with plastic fins. No alterations of any type allowed. Must also run stock flywheel key.
Piston and Rings: Must be unaltered Box Stock only. No machining of piston and rings allowed.
Connecting Rod: Stock Box Stock rod only. No machining of any type allowed. Stock rod bolts only.
